Duncan Sinclair - Founding Partner | Registered Architect
A design & construction professional, with experience spanning 15 years and five countries.
Construction experience includes: Wanganui Hospital Redevelopment, Whanganui; incorporation of the historic Jean Batten Building into the Deloitte Tower, Auckland; the Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall) renovation, Eschwege, Germany; Silvia Park mall, Auckland; the Copthorne Hotel at Chelsea Football Club, London; high-altitude ‘holiday houses’ in Colorado.
This extensive construction experience underpins Duncan’s Architectural knowledge, with design experience including specialist Healthcare (X-Ray & CT Scan rooms, mental health redesign & communication rooms), Commercial Developer driven projects (both Office & Retail) and Residential projects.
The founding of Black Pine Architects has allowed Duncan to join New Zealand’s innovators, bringing Passiv Haus design standards to our built environment and, at the opposite end of the ‘green’ technology spectrum, to explore further a personal interest in the use of Straw Bale and clay & lime plasters as low environmental-impact, construction materials.
“The act of building (re)development, from conception to completion, is dynamic, exciting, and a tremendous gift to be a part of!”
